On Sunday, 31 May, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the city of Severodonetsk.

 

According to V.Lytvyn, "such cities as Severodonetsk are the living history of a modern stage of our development".  "Such cities remind us of our recent past, of our mighty State, of the glory created by people working at such powerful enterprises as in Severodonetsk. They also remind us that Ukrainian economy can develop successfully provided we do not forget our past, and work in a unitary complex, so that to secure the sale of our production", - stressed V.Lytvyn. 

 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine believes that the anniversary of the city should become the event of national scope.

 

Within the scope of the celebration, V.Lytvyn took part in the consecration of a newly-erected chapel near the communal grave of the Soviet soldiers. V.Lytvyn also lay flowers to the communal grave, and visited the summary concert of the variety dance folk ensemble "Viktoria". 

 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine sent his greetings to the children-participants of the ensemble and their parents on the occasion of the holiday, and wished that "the children brilliantly demonstrated all the aspects of their talent". "There are no untalented children only the lack of attention", - he stated.

 

V.Lytvyn stressed the importance of quality education, as "Ukraine should acquire new brains". "One should write one´s life on a new leaf no circumstances will allow to rewrite it", - he underscored.

 

V.Lytvyn presented Severodonetsk municipal hospital with the infant resuscitator and awarded prominent residents of the city with the Diplomas of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and valuable gifts.
